On September 17, 2024, Kalaburagi proudly celebrated the 76th Kalyana Karnataka Utsav, commemorating its liberation from the Nizam of Hyderabad.
Chief Minister Shri. Siddaramaiah hoisted the national flag and unveiled plans to shape Kalaburagi into a Smart City, with an investment of ₹1,685 crore.
The event saw the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Shri. D.K. Shivakumar, Minister Shri. Priyank Kharge, and other esteemed Cabinet members.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar inaugurated the ‘Saras Mela’ and Khadi Festival—an exhibition and sales fair held at the Sardar High School Grounds in Belagavi, as part of the centenary celebrations of the 1924 Congress session.
The event, held from December 26 to January 4, witnessed the presence of Centenary Committee Chairman and Minister of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihoods Dr. Sharanprakash Patil, along with Ministers H.K. Patil, Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, K.H. Muniyappa, Laxmi Hebbalkar, M.B. Patil, M.C. Sudhakar, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Bhairati Suresh, MLAs R.V. Deshpande, Special Representative to Delhi T.B. Jayachandra, and former Chief Minister Veerappa Moily.
